This page covers how to take a blog post or article you have already published and turn it into platform-native drafts, without rewriting it by hand. You paste a URL, Quillcaster reads the page, and you get a draft per platform to edit and publish.
What is repurposing from a link?
Compose usually starts with an idea you type. Repurposing from a link starts with something you have already written instead. You switch Compose into From a link mode, paste a blog or article URL, and Quillcaster fetches that page, reads the readable text on it, and drafts a made-to-fit post for each platform you selected. The drafts land in the same grid as any other idea, each one written in the right length and shape for its app.
It reads blog and article web pages. The other two source options next to it, Video and Blog / RSS, are shown as coming soon and are not active yet.
Why repurpose instead of starting fresh?
You put real work into that post. Repurposing gets more mileage out of it. One long piece can become a punchy Bluesky post, a longer Mastodon take, and a Farcaster cast, each phrased for its own audience rather than a copy-paste of the same paragraph. It is the fastest way to keep a back catalogue working for you, and it pairs naturally with a brand voice so everything still sounds like you. How to draft from a link
- Open Compose. Under the idea box, click From a link. A URL field appears.
- Paste a blog or article URL (for example,
https://yourblog.com/post). - In the Publish to row, pick the platforms you want drafts for. You need at least one selected.
- Click Fetch & draft. Quillcaster reads the page and generates a draft per platform.
- Watch the cards fill in. Each one shows its platform and a small Drafted from <source> note at the top of the results, so you always know where it came from.
Edit, publish, or schedule the drafts
From here the drafts behave exactly like any other Compose output. Use the Preview and Edit tabs on a card to tweak the text, then Save edit. When a draft looks right, publish it to a connected account, or open the schedule control to send it later. If a page will not fetch
Some pages cannot be read: a URL that is not a valid web address, a page Quillcaster is not allowed to reach, a fetch that fails, or a page with no readable text. When that happens you get a short, plain message explaining which of those it was, so you can fix the URL and try again. Publishing itself needs the editor or admin role in the workspace.
